I was online in one of the networking sites and looking at the profiles of people I know and I was stunned by the things I saw. People have done so well for themselves and for a moment there I wondered what I had achieved with my life. You see, it was so easy to read about the work others have done and wonder what impact I had made on this world. Here I am sitting in my office wondering about things that should really not be the issue but for that moment they were.

I will not trivialise what people have done and who they have met and worked with or how they have had economic impact. That is the not the purpose of my writing. I sat here and recognised that each one of us has a gifting and area of calling and different level of exposure and timing. Would you believe that some of us will not gain prominence till after we are dead and gone? That is what legacy is all about. Again…that is not the focus of my writing.

It took several days to get over the wonderful things I saw and allow the voice of God through. The one thing I found most astounding was the reality that God allows each of us to find and exploit our niches of influence at a different pace with different levels of success and prominence. The most important thing is what He desires for me to now and how well I am doing it. It means that I must first discover the riches of a love relationship with Him then seek to be the best I can be for Him.

In Jeremiah 29:10-14 it says, ^10-11This is God’s Word on the subject: “As soon as Babylon’s seventy years are up and not a day before, I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. ¹²“When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. ^13-14“When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” God’s Decree. “I’ll turn things around for you. I’ll bring you back from all the countries into which I drove you”—God’s Decree—”bring you home to the place from which I sent you off into exile. You can count on it. (The Message)

Several things struck me:

• He comes at the appointed time – not a moment early or late; He will show up sort it out
• He knows the plans – He laid them out Himself for me and they are for my good
• He knows what He is doing – He is not goofing around
• When I call He will listen, When I seek He will be found. Ties so well into Matt 6:33
• I must be serious about finding Him – seeking with all my heart.
• He will bring me into my destiny – there is no doubt about this one.

I am so encouraged that I don’t have to rely on me to make things happen but I can wait on Jehovah and He will see me though. Tap into His power and at the appointed time, in the appointed place with the appointed people, He will bring you to the fulfilment of His plan for you. Hold on to Jesus no matter who or what stand in the way.

This is my desire and I will stand regardless of the world around me.
